Clydesdale

Size: 16.2hh

Main Colours: Bay, although you can get black and grey.

Characteristics: Active paces

Uses: Heavy draught work

Originated from: Clyde Valley, Lankenshire, Scotland

The Clydesdale horse has very active paces for such a big animal, but yet they are smaller than shire horses.

Clydesdalt horses are particualy popular in Scotland, as there was a demand for a light draft horse that can be used in the scotish mines. The Clydesdale horse fits perfectly to that description!!!!

Generally all clydesdales no matter what colour coat that they have a lot of white on their head and face.

Did you know that this breed is one of the only breed of heavy horses that haven't got lots of hairs hanging over their hoof.
