Jutland Horses

Did you know that the Jutland horse breed comes from Denmark.

Size:15.2hh- 16hh

Main Colours:Mainly chestnut, although bay, roan and black Jutland horses have also been recorded

Characteristics: willingness and happiness to work

Uses: draught and farm work

Jutland horses have been around for 100s of years. They first originated from the Isle Jutland

The Jutland Horse being one of the strongest breeds were used to carry heavily armoured nights into battle in the middle ages.

The modern breed of the Jutland horse is a lot denser than before, a result of the influence of a suffolk stallion called 'Oppenheim LX11'.

Althought the Jutland horse has enormous strength, it is very handleable and co-operative.
